Not for the home. Not for the history. Not for the kids or the years or the fear of what leaving would cost. Them. Just them. If the honest answer is no, the reason is not your marriage. It is upstream, and for eight weeks we are going there together.
Eight weeks · live facilitated cohort · built by James Tippins, founder of The Autonomy Commission
The quiet at 10:40 on a Tuesday. The anger far too big for the dishwasher. The resentment you are ashamed of. The relief of being alone, where no one needs the character you play. You did not come this far because things are fine. You came because you can feel the fire, even if no one ever taught you to call it that.
Something is being burned for fuel in your house every day, and you already know what the fuel is. The rest of this page is what to do about it.
A self built out of performance meets the heat of a real life, and it is agony, because what burns is everything you mistook for yourself. Most people call the slow version of this tired, or midlife, or fine. It burns you for fuel, quietly, for decades.
The same heat meets a self with nothing false left to burn, and the experience inverts. Full volume becomes full aliveness. You burn completely and lose nothing, because fire only consumes what was never truly you.
Here is the whole secret, and it changes the target of all your effort: love is downstream of identity. Every contaminated thing in your love, the expectation, the scorekeeping, the resentment, the inability to receive, is not a flaw in your love. It is the condition of the self your love flows through, dissolved into it on the way out. Work the marriage and you filter at the faucet while the well stays poisoned. Work the self, and everything downstream runs clean without being managed at all.
You never loved for nothing because the one who would do that loving has never quite been in the room. You sent a performance. And a performance cannot love for nothing, because it only exists for what it gets back.
This is why leaving does not fix it. The performance packs its own boxes. It moves into the next relationship with you. The door you need is not the front door. It is the one between you and yourself.
“You have never loved for nothing because the one who would do that loving has never quite been in the room.”
From the course“Resentment is a late fee on a contract your partner never signed.”
Module Three“The performance packs its own boxes. It moves into the next relationship with you.”
Module Two“Fire only consumes what is false. There is another way to burn, and lose nothing.”
Module Four“The open hand is not a weaker grip. It is a stronger self.”
Module Five“Love is completed by reception. Until it lands, it has not finished happening.”
Module SixThese are claims from the work itself, not customer testimonials. This is a founding cohort, and real voices will appear here as its members finish.
This is the first cohort to walk UNCONSUMED. There are no testimonials on this page yet, and I am not going to invent any, because a course about retiring the performed self cannot open with a performance. Here is what I will stand behind instead.
Nearly three decades guiding people through the exact places this work goes. This is not a first attempt at the material.
Every module, experiment, and live session is complete before you enroll. You are joining a finished path, not a work in progress.
Do the first two weeks. If the work has not shown you something true you cannot unsee, write me and I will walk it with you personally until it does.
My promise to the founding cohort. You are trusting a page that cannot yet show you other people’s results, so I will tell you plainly what you are buying. Not a feeling, and not a saved marriage, because no honest person can sell you those. A clean self, built in eight weeks, and a written record of your own interior that did not exist before. Whatever you choose from there, you will choose as the actual you. That is the whole offer, and if it has not done that for you, write me and I will work the material with you personally until it has.

Love is downstream of identity. The week you stop working on the wrong patient.
Why the feeling never lived in the right person, and what has been traveling with you.
Excavate the invisible contracts running your closest relationship and read their terms for the first time.
Map your worst fires, and meet the one in you that has never once burned.
Find the hostages inside your wants, and state one out loud with nothing attached.
Learn the harder half of love: letting it land, with the books left open.
Fire the inner auditor that has been detaining your joy, and keep the compass.
Hold grief and gratitude in the same breath, and walk out as a self that is climate, not weather.
Prefer to feel it out first? Take the 4-minute diagnostic and see which fire you are in.
Do the first two modules in full. Show up, do the experiments, come to the calls. If the work has not already begun to show you something true about yourself that you cannot unsee, tell us before the third week and we will work it with you directly until it does. The only risk here is staying exactly as you are.
Twenty-nine years of weddings, of counseling couples across a desk, of preaching love with chapter and verse. And in all of it, I never once loved a human being for nothing but them. Not without a contract running underneath. I did not know that until the work tore the performance down, and one ordinary evening the first clean love of my life arrived at full volume and undid me completely.
UNCONSUMED is the structure beneath that evening. Not the story. The laws that had to be true for it to be possible at all, built into a path you can actually walk.

The founding cohort is capped, on purpose.
The live calls only work in a small room, so seats are limited and the founding rate closes when they are filled. The price rises for every cohort after this one. If the question in the headline landed somewhere real, that is the signal, not a reason to wait for a version of you who feels more ready. That version is built here, not before.
This work makes no promise about any specific relationship, and anyone who promises that is selling you something. What it promises is a clean self. Whatever you then experience, choose, and build, you will do as the actual you, with working equipment, instead of a performance reading an old script. Many people find a marriage of years turns strange and new beneath them. Some find clarity they were avoiding. Both are the work succeeding.
No. This is your work, on your self, and it is designed to be done alone, whether your partner ever knows about it or not. The change radiates from how you exist, not from a conversation you make them have.
No. This is identity architecture and teaching, not clinical treatment, and it does not replace care from a licensed professional. If you are in crisis, please seek that care first; this work will be here when you are steady.
Then you are exactly who the second module is for. The equipment travels from relationship to relationship, which is why the same patterns keep reappearing. This is where that stops.
Plan on the teaching, roughly an hour of experiment on your own life, and one live call. The experiments are the course. The teaching exists to make them survivable.
You keep lifetime access to every teaching and workbook, so nothing is lost. The live cohort gives the work its momentum, and most people find that the room is exactly what keeps them from drifting.
The slow fire is already running, and it does not stop on its own. It just runs out of you. The only question left is the one worth answering, and the room to answer it in is open now.
